Gaiole in Chianti is located in central Tuscany and is perfectly situated as a base to explore all of Tuscany’s key sites. Florence, Siena and Cortona are under one hour drive away. With stunning Tuscan views, there are medieval castles, prestigious wineries, olive groves and beautiful hill top Chianti towns all around. Within 1.5 hours drive it is possible to reach San Gimignano, Montepulciano, Lucca and Pisa.
The nearest shops, delicatessen, butcher, drugstore and bars are in Gaiole in Chianti. There is also a fruit and vegetable shop, hairdressers, pizza restaurants and a small children’s play area. Also nearby are the pretty villages of Radda in Chianti, Lecchi and San Sano, all with a selection of individual restaurants, bars and artisan shops. Local wine estates include Ricasoli with Brolio castle which was the birthplace of Chianti wine.
