When guests stay with us we are happy to supply them with our Extra Virgin olive oil that they can drizzle on salad or use in cooking. Our chefs love it and use it too.
The reason it is so special is because Le Pratola olives are grown without the use of pesticides and harvested by hand to reduce damage to the fruit.
Within hours of picking the olives are transported to the Santa Tea Frantoio which is one of Italy’s most pioneering pressing mills. The olives are cold pressed at a temperature below 28 degrees (82F) to ensure there is no loss of flavour or antioxidant properties. This first press also ensures the flavour is maximized to produce a wonderfully fragrant and brightly coloured extra virgin olive oil.
Our oil is assessed by the Analytical Laboratory in Florence for its nutritional value, taste and is officially certified as a high quality extra virgin oil.
Extra virgin olive oil is high in vitamins D, E and K and omega 3 and 6. It is known to have a wide range of health benefits including helping to prevent cancer, heart disease, strokes and type 2 diabetes.
Unlike supermarket oils Le Pratola’s oil is single estate and unblended with oil from any other olives or countries. Packaging and marketing of our oil is all done locally with minimal air miles and wastage.
